That’s great M8. Glad you found inspiration here!
Yes, I need to reload a few older links, they’ve
been up over a year. Perhaps I’ll find some time
this weekend.
First off, your blog is incredible..it has already allowed me to start recovering my passion and creativity I had thought I had lost, You’ve made the quick trip right up to my bookmark bar =]
Just to let you know, the D-1 resource pack, downloads the same as the C-1 pack. =]
When I said that you were our last hope I actually meant it 100%.
You are a great guy and by looking and reading the interview now you aren’t just our last hope but the first guy I’d go for some advice. Always will and have loved your work.
Thanks for the Interview and your Very Well Done Presentations of your Inner Art.
Great interview. I’ve seen you around Hidden-Designers.com… Good points throughout the interview. I’d like to discuss some more. I’ll PM you on HD. Again, good points. Especially about the CnC. I’ve always just taken the CnC without question, not even thinking about if I were more advanced then the other user. And I will probably continue to use some CnC, but it has opened my eyes a bit and I will be a bit more careful on which CnC is useful. Thanks.
awesome interview im sure many will gain from reading it, well i hope they do as it has some good strong pointers i will say to you like i told wolfy its a pleasure to view your art and we all learn from each other
1) Learn to play your instrument.
Realize PhotoShop, Gimp, C4D, etc. are complex computer programs that are similar to musical instruments. You can’t sit down in front of piano and start playing. After a month of puttering around, maybe you can bang out a rendition of “Mary had a Little Lamb,” – music, but not very good music.
Working with PS is just like that. Realize the more you know about what the program can do, the better your art will be. In order to do that, you’ve got put in the time to learn how to play your instrument and discover what keys do what.
2)Tutorials
Once you get familiar with what your keyboard can do, start downloading tutorials and learn by doing. Try and recreate a similar signature while you learn how to apply what your program features can do.
3)CnC
Ask for Criticism and Comments at a GFX site where the staff is friendly and want to help new artists. Unfortunately there are many sites who members are crass teenage boys who enjoy ripping into other’s work. There’s no quicker way to crush the creative spirit than this. I list a couple sites on my BLOGROLL where you can get helpful hints from caring staffs who will help you get better quick. Join those sites and make friends!
4)Art is a Daily Exercise
I try and create at least one piece of art everyday and have for the last three years or so. If you want to play the piano better you practice daily. Same with GFX. Now if you do this after a while the view of your world begins to change. Driving around town your eyes begin to see the world anew.
